You may break, you may shatter the vase, if you will,
But the scent of the roses will hang round it still.

It is Autumn here in New Zealand and the beautiful roses are nearly all gone. So I thought I would post a few pics I took when our roses were in their prime. Yellow roses are my favourite! But the white look stunning, too!

Wonderful shots. Yellow are my favourite, too. Last Summer I saw some pale white beige ones that smelled of almonds. Just gorgeous.
I love the smell of roses.
Thank you for the lovely pictures here, and as always, for the encouraging words on my blog.
Happy days,
Joanie
Beautiful! these photos are making me nostalgic for my cottage garden I had when I lived in Seattle.
I wanted to ask you what the people in the art stores are telling you when you ask them about encaustics. Is it the set up that is steering you away? I do recommend to anyone who is interested in exploring encaustics to take a class or workshop to find out if it is something that they want to invest in. It is expensive and there are also safety issues. Please let me know if you any questions! I would be happy to answer any, if I can. bridgette @ guerzonmills.com
WOW!! Beyond lovely!! I feel like if I put my face close to my screen I will be able to smell their wonderful fragrance! Beautiful flowers. Beautiful photographs! Thanks for sharing them!
just gorgeous. I can even feel the warmth of the sun..
Such beautiful roses! You said our roses - did you grow them or did you mean our as in New Zealand. Someone needs praises for their green thumb!
Jennifer, Yes they are 'our' roses, as in 'our' garden. The green fingers would be on my husband's hands, not mine. I love to look at the garden, but I can't stand to tend it!!!
Oh so pretty. I wish my husband had a green thumb. I don't but I'm trying anyway. My poor little rose bushes have never given me a display like this. Wow.
I so want roses like these in my garden! Gorgeous!!!
Stopping by to thank you for your Flyght vote. Aaron was thrilled to get a vote from New Zealand. :)
